Update: Teen shot Wednesday night becomes third Macon murder victim in three days

Coroner Leon Jones says the 19 year old died early Thursday morning

MACON, Ga. — A teen shot Wednesday night died early Thursday morning at a Macon hospital.

Coroner Leon Jones says he pronounced 19 year old Jahfari Bullard dead just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Jones says that gives Macon three homicides in the last three days.

Bibb County Sheriff's O investigators say someone shot Bullard near the intersection of Lamar and Ferguson streets.

A news release says deputies responded to the call just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

When deputies got to the scene, they found 19-year-old Jahfari Shakwun Bullard of Macon, laying in the street with a gunshot to his abdomen.

Bullard was taken to the hospital, in critical condition.

It's still unclear what led up to the shooting.
