Man found dead near boat ramp in Lake Oconee identified

The Greene County coroner identified the 49-year-old man as Jay Swaim, of Peachtree City.

GREENE COUNTY, Ga. — The man found dead near a boat ramp in Lake Oconee has now been identified.

Greene County Coroner Jeff Smith, Sr. says the man is 49-year-old Jay Swaim. He says Swaim lived in Peachtree City.

A spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources says Swaim was found near the Double Branches boat ramp on Sunday afternoon.

An autopsy is scheduled to see if Swaim died as the result of a medical issue or an accident of some kind.

Investigators don't believe there was any kind of a crime.
